How are Ceiling batts Installed?

The batts are laid directly over your ceilings, between the timber ceiling frame. Care is taken to ensure we cut around all penetrations (i.e.. downlights, ceiling fans, etc.).

Electrical wires are lifted up and the batts lay beneath where the wires are not nailed down. We ensure all the ceiling area is covered, even with a batt over the manhole cover. We normally gain access through the manhole but in some cases may need to lift a few tiles or roof sheeting.

Are Glasswool and Rockwool Batts Safe?

Bradford is the only accepted insulation partner of the National Asthma Council Australia Sensitive Choice Program. Bradford Gold insulation is suitable for use in the homes of asthma and allergy sufferers.  It also doesn't provide a food source for insects or vermin.

How do I keep the noise out?

Use Bradford Rockwool Batts. They are the best product available, with a density over three times that of a normal Glasswool ceiling batts, these are certainly the right product for all noise problems.

What Thickness Will I Need?

Insulation performance is measured in "R" Ratings.

This is the resistance to the flow of heat from one side to the other. Therefore, the higher the 'R' rating the thicker the insulation. In most parts of Brisbane/Gold Coast the recommended 'R' rating is R3.0 for ceilings and R1.5 for walls.

R3.0 Gold Ceiling Batts are nominally 165mm thick.
R1.5 Gold Wall Batts are nominally 75mm thick.

PROVEN COMFORT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY.

When it comes to a comfortable living environment your home can be your own worst enemy.

Take those freezing winters. 42% of your home's warmth is lost through the ceiling and 24% is lost through the walls.

It's the reverse on blazing hot summer days with heat flowing in through your ceilings and walls.

Bradford Insulation stops up to 70% of all heat transfers. Bradford Insulation keeps you cool when its hot and warm when it's not. And there's a bonus too!

Just think of how much you'll save on those energy bills! Everyone, in fact, will breathe easier, including the environment. Frankly, it's hard to think of a better year-round investment for your home!
